An EMERGENCY SERVICE will be provided by the out-of-hours service.
If you have an emergency please telephone the surgery and follow the instructions in the recorded message.
Please note: repeat prescriptions and appointment requests cannot be handled by this service. Please wait and contact the surgery when it re-opens. Please help us to help you by only calling the emergency service if you have an URGENT medical problem.
Out Of Hours Cover
The out-of-hours service is from when the surgery closes to the time it opens in the morning. In the event that the surgery is closed you can seek advice by contacting your Pharmacy or phoning NHS 111. Following an assessment by 111 they may advise you need to be seen; if this is the case your details will then be forwarded to the local out of hours provider (NEMS CBS). A NEMS triage nurse will call you back and they will arrange an appointment if your symptoms cannot wait for the practice to open. This appointment will normally be at PC24, right next to the Emergency Department at Kings Mill Hospital. Please note that PC24 is not a walk In centre but provides urgent primary care and treatment for situations when the problem cannot wait until the practice reopens.
Primary Care 24
If you need urgent treatment or care for a condition that would normally be treated at the GP practice you can attend the Emergency Department where you will be assessed by an Emergency Department nurse. If this is during the hours that your GP practice Is open, you would be referred to PC24, which is a nurse led service. Please note that PC24 is not a walk in centre and you cannot directly access PC24 except during the out of hours period if you are given an appointment via 111.
